St. Rita CYO is open to all high school teens in grades 8-12. We strive to host events and outings that lead teens into a relationship with Jesus Christ through prayer, catechesis, social gathering and service.
We meet two Sunday evenings a month in the Community Room from 5:30-7pm. Dinner is provided by generous parishioners. If you’d like to assist with “Sunday Suppers”,click here.
Bible study takes place the first Wednesday of the month from 7-8pm.
Holy Hour & Social take place on the third Thursday of each month.
Throughout the year, we offer many more special events and fun-filled gatherings!
"St. Rita's youth group has been a life-changing experience. Not only has it truly deepened my faith, it has also helped me form friendships grounded in Christ. Within each meeting, I developed my faith, learned how to be a better disciple, and genuinely discovered a space where I could be myself."

Meet Your Youth Minister: Katie Almon
Hello! I am Katie Almon. I am an adopted New Orleanian of 20 years. After attending Loyola, I assisted in Katrina recovery efforts and was profoundly impacted by people’s faith and resilience. I taught and served as Campus Minister at St. Mary’s Dominican High School before stepping away to homeschool my children. My husband, Barry, and I have led Confirmation prep at the Basilica of St. Stephen for 13 years. It's been an unexpected gift which built the foundation of our marriage! We have 3 amazing children! I love reading and writing (check out some of my articles below!), road trips, swimming at Riverside and Mardi Gras parades! I am most passionate about sharing God's love with young people through the Eucharist and Scripture study.
