Do you want to be a part of a thrilling adventure this summer?
J.R.R. Tolkien’s book, The Hobbit, is one of the most relatable and whimsical fantasy novels ever written! The inspiring tale of unlikely hero Bilbo Baggins has delighted generations of adults and children alike. Did you know Tolkien was a devout Catholic whose faith profoundly impacted his writings? His overarching themes in The Hobbit include courage, self-discovery, humility, sacrifice and God’s providential care.
Camp Quest
July 29-31, 2026
8:30am – 3pm
Open to incoming Grades 4th-7thCost: $75
Morning stations include Middle-Earth games, Hobbit crafts, Faith and Storytelling and Second Breakfast (a.k.a. snack). Afternoons include lunch and recess, daily Mass, guest speakers, theatre and special events!
We can’t make this fantasy camp a reality without volunteers! We have a variety of volunteer opportunities for adults and youth ages 15+. Until we reach capacity, children of adult volunteers will receive $30 off the cost of camp registration. Adults must be safe-environment certified with the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
On the registration form, you will rank what areas you think you will enjoy participating in.
We are looking to fill the following positions:
- Second Breakfast Coordinator (Adult)
- Second Breakfast Assistants (2-3 High Schoolers)
- Hobbit Craft Assistants (2-3 High Schoolers)
- Middle-Earth Game Assistants (2-3 High Schoolers)
- Faith & Storytelling Assistants (2-3 High Schoolers)
- Group Leaders (3 Adults)
- Camper Assistants (6 High Schoolers)
Camper assistants ensure that campers' needs are taken care of throughout the day. They assist in each station, make sure that the campers are accounted for as they move from station to station and ensure bathroom breaks are taken without issue. Issues regarding the campers will be handled by the Group Leader, and ultimately the VBS Director. High school volunteers should complete registration and a VBS team member will be in contact for a follow-up interview.

Discover The Hobbit In the summer days before Camp Quest, consider being a part of our
Family Summer Reading Challenge! Parents or grandparents can join in the adventure by reading or listening to The Hobbit together aloud with their child(ren) ages 9+ for 15 minutes a day. Campers will have a more impactful experience if they know the book ahead of time.
Reading together as a family is an unforgettable bonding experience!

Making Meaningful and Last Connections with Your KidsAs part of the Challenge, you will be provided with a reading guide and family discussion questions. You'll also have the chance to win prizes by answering riddles and book trivia!
Families are welcome to participate even if their child is unable to attend Camp Quest.
